Atlas Surveying, Inc. seeks entry-level Instrument Operators to join our field team. No prior surveying experience is required as we provide comprehensive training and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

You will assist with setup, operation of equipment, data collection, and safe field practices across our Southeast projects in the Charlotte area and beyond.

Qualifications

• No prior surveying experience required; training provided.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record for 3 years to drive company vehicle.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of surveying equipment including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Learn surveying techniques under supervision of experienced surveyors.
• Hold survey rods, measure distances, and record data accurately.
• Follow instructions from Crew Chief to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain equipment and assist with transport to/from job sites.
• Adhere to safety protocols for a safe working environment.

We're looking for motivated individuals to join us as Entry-Level Instrument Operators. This role is perfect for those keen to begin a career in land surveying, even without prior experience. As an Instrument Operator, you'll team up with seasoned surveying experts, aiding in field operations and gaining invaluable knowledge of land surveying basics. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup and operation of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Learn and apply basic surveying techniques under the guidance of experienced surveyors.
• Perform tasks such as holding survey rods, measuring distances, and recording data accurately.
• Follow instructions from the Crew Chief and other senior team members to ensure efficient and accurate surveying operations.
• Maintain survey equipment and assist with equipment transportation to and from job sites.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

Qualifications:

• No prior experience in land surveying is required - we will provide training and support for the right candidates.
• This position may require driving a company vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license and no infractions for a minimum of 3 years is required to be approved to drive a company vehicle and added to the company insurance policy.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

• The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 75 lbs. Mental and physical labors are to be expected.
