Job summary

Advanced Structural Technologies (AST) in Oxnard, CA is seeking an entry-level Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. You will assist with troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and installation of electrical and mechanical systems across our manufacturing facility.

Training will be provided on our equipment, controls, and procedures. The ideal candidate has basic electrical/mechanical knowledge and a safety-focused mindset, with a strong willingness to learn

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and electrical test equipment.
• Ability and willingness to learn how to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong willingness to learn industrial maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently as skills develop.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical problems.
• Learn to troubleshoot CNC and VTL equipment with various controls.
• Assist with troubleshooting industrial furnaces and electrical controls.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Use multimeters and electrical test equipment to diagnose problems.
• Assist with wiring and replacement of sensors, switches, motors, relays, and control components.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
• Read and interpret basic electrical/mechanical drawings with guidance.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and parts used.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
