Strategies to Empower People Inc. (STEP) is hiring full-time and part-time Direct Support Staff to provide in-home and community support for adults with physical and developmental disabilities in the Sacramento area.

The role is entry-level but offers growth into a rewarding career and requires empathy, patience, and creativity. The position includes competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.90 to $17.75, with benefits after a short waiting period, and potential weekend or overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion.
• May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record for positions that require driving.
• May be required to register with In-Home Support Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for clients in-home and in the community.
• Assist with hygiene, meal preparation, and community integration.
• Support with money management and personal growth activities.
• Help clients develop independence and daily living skills.
• Follow care plans and document progress as required.
