Job summary

Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring full-time Behavioral Support Staff to provide in-home and community support for adults with physical and developmental disabilities in the Greater Sacramento area.

Behavioral challenges include aggression, elopement, self-injury, and related needs. The role emphasizes empathy, patience, and creativity to promote independence and safety in daily living and community activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or certificate of completion.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of qualifying behavioral experience (professional experience).
• May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record for positions that require driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for clients with behavioral needs in home and community settings.
• Assist with hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living activities.
• Help clients build independence and relationships in their community.
• Support money management, personal growth, and health management.
• Implement behavior support strategies and report changes or concerns.
