Job summary

City of Laredo seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to perform skilled maintenance and excavation tasks using backhoes, graders, and loaders. The role requires at least two years of heavy equipment experience and a Texas CDL class A or B; a clean motor vehicle record is also required.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, graders, and loaders to install, replace, and maintain streets, water lines, meters, and valves.
• Cut and fit pipes above/below ground per specifications; install/repair water lines and manholes.
• Raise/lower/move water lines as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools (oil changes, greasing).
• Operate front end loader to collect debris and assist with digging, trenching, and other labor as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.
