Job summary

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
• Valid Texas CDL class A required; out-of-state license must be converted within 6 months.
• Background check and certified school transcripts required for all applicants.
• Drug and alcohol testing required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, graders, and loaders to install, replace, and maintain streets, roads, and water lines.
• Cut and fit pipes and assemble piping systems for water mains, valves, and meters.
• Raise, lower, or move water lines as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment; wash, oil changes, and greasing.
• Assist other departments in emergencies and perform related tasks as assigned.
