Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Fort Myers, FL seeks an entry level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. This role works at various locations and may travel to another state depending on customer demands.

You will perform safe overhead work, assist with setting poles, transformers, switches and gear, maintain vehicles and tools, and lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation or lineman work.
• Ability to travel to other states as required by customer demands.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days; CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair of energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Set poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Capable of working at heights and in inclement weather.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
