Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Florida is hiring an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role may require travel to multiple locations and possibly to other states based on customer needs.

Responsibilities include setting poles, assisting with transformers and switches, inspecting PPE, and learning proper grounding and bucket procedures. Lifting up to 50 lbs and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in line work or related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days.
• A CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized overhead work during construction, maintenance or repair.
• Set poles and anchors for transmission lines.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators and switches.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Capable of learning basic rigging, hand lines and lineman knots.
