Job summary
Herc Rentals in Bismarck, ND is seeking an entry-level Mechanic C focused on learning branch procedures and quality standards. You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with repairs, and ensure equipment stays on the rental ready line under supervision.
The role requires basic heavy equipment repair education or 1 year of related experience, with tools and safety being emphasized. This position is full-time and on-site in North Dakota, offering a path to higher-level mechanics.
Qualifications
- Accredited education in heavy equipment repair or 1 year of experience in lieu of
- Owns a selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services preferred
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 LBs
Responsibilities
- Follow a consistent schedule of preventive maintenance for the branch fleet
- Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs under direct supervision
- Diagnose small tools and light equipment with assistance from senior mechanics
- Perform major repairs using diagnostic tools and measuring instruments
- Enter work orders and order parts via fleet management system
- Produce service reports and repair logs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow company procedures and protocols
