Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Heat Shop Service Mechanic I responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, pressure vessels, and environmental control systems.

Requires high school diploma or GED; experience preferred in related systems; must lift 50 pounds and have a valid driver's license; EPA Type I-III or Universal certification required by Title 40 CFR Part 82.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of ventilation, low-pressure steam/hot water pressure vessels, and environmental control systems preferred.
EPA Type I/II/III or Universal certification required by Title 40 CFR Part 82.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits, using electrical test devices.
Replace faulty thermostats, wiring, and controls.
Check accuracy and calibrate electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems.
Clean, lubricate, and service ventilation, gas, and oil burners and environmental control equipment.
Set ventilation, heating, and environmental control equipment into place.
Wire boiler controls.
Fit and repair low-pressure steam and hot water piping.
Connects and installs piping and duct; removes and replaces joints or lengths of pipe and duct.
Adjusted and balances distribution systems to achieve maximum energy efficiency.
Uses recycling and recovery equipment.
