Job summary

Town of Queen Creek is hiring an entry-level maintenance/grounds technician for the Parks and Recreation department. The role includes basic horticultural tasks, weed and pest management, custodial duties, and routine repairs.

You will operate light equipment and assist with event setups, with work centered at Mansel Carter Oasis Park. This safety-sensitive position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, plus a valid AZ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Valid AZ Driver’s License required.
• Safety-sensitive position with post-offer drug/alcohol testing within 24 hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic, routine horticultural maintenance and weed/pest management.
• Performs custodial duties including cleaning, trash/recycling, and floor mopping.
• Inspects areas and determines replacement and repair needs.
• Operates light equipment and cleaning equipment as needed.
• Assists with event setup/teardown and general maintenance tasks.
