Hartford HealthCare’s Hartford Hospital Endoscopy Unit is seeking an entry-level Patient Care Technician to assist with endoscopic procedures and reprocessing under RN supervision. You will prepare rooms, verify equipment readiness, and support a smooth, safe workflow focused on high-quality patient care.

Shifts rotate; role emphasizes infection control, ongoing education, and teamwork with nurses, providers, and staff to deliver excellent outcomes for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required; on-site training provided.
• Current BLS certification within 60 days of hire; CE credits within two years.

Responsibilities

• Performs endoscopy room setup and ensures equipment is ready for procedures.
• Performs high-level disinfection of endoscopic equipment and maintains scope repossessing equipment.
• Transports patients and assists with specimen collection as needed.
• Documents patient information and ensures infection prevention measures are followed.
