Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT, seeks a Sterile Processing / Endoscopy Support role. Under RN supervision, you will prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and assist physicians during endoscopic procedures. You will support patient care before and after procedures and help maintain a safe, clean environment across MMH and RGH campuses.

This 24-hour unit requires on-call coverage Monday through Friday after 11:00 p.m. as well as weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) is required within two years of hire.
• Annual CEUs are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and manage equipment.
• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, prepares procedure rooms, manages equipment, and assists the Physician during endoscopic procedures. Assists with patient care pre and post procedure as well as assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. This unit provides 24-hour coverage. Clinical Cross-campus (MMH and RGH) on-call is required Monday through Friday after 11:00 p.m (2300) weekends and holidays. Reports to the MMH Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification in Sterile Processing or Flexible Endoscopy Reprocessing through a nationally accredited central service organization such as, CBSPD oe IAHCSMM is required within two years of hire. (After January 2016).
• Annually obtain the mandatory number of Continuing Education units (CEUs).

Competencies

• Basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft Windows-based WORD, EXCEL and OUTLOOK software programs.
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively using the English language.
• Employee must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties.
