Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Laboratory Technician for our Nashville, TN office. The role involves performing laboratory tests, observing site activities, and maintaining equipment under supervision. A B.S.

degree in Geology or Civil Engineering is required, with strong math and communication skills. You will work with Intertek-PSI services to support construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental projects.

Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Geology or Civil Engineering required.
Must have Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written form.
Must be able to read and understand work plans.
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime.
Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of laboratory testing under supervision and/or controlled procedures.
Operate testing equipment and conduct laboratory testing (e.g., concrete compressive strength, grain size analysis, proctor, Atterberg limits).
Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
Observe site activities and perform related tasks.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
