SCS Engineers is seeking an entry-level geotechnical engineer to join the Mid-Atlantic solid waste team in Virginia Beach, VA. You will support landfill and environmental projects, performing geotechnical analyses, permitting, and construction quality assurance both in the field and office.

You will gain hands-on experience through fieldwork, design development, and collaboration with private and municipal clients. Occasional travel may be required as part of project work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering required; master’s in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• 3 months of relevant solid waste, civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering internship/work/research experience required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; valid driver's license required; strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide geotechnical support for landfill and related facility design and CQA.
• Assist with landfills, permitting, design, and environmental projects.
• Prepare construction plans, calculations, and reports; assist in site investigations.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients; support fieldwork and safety.
