Job summary

GFT in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Team. The role focuses on planning subsurface explorations, performing analyses for transportation, water resources, and other projects, and contributing to geotechnical deliverables.

Ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree (ABET) with 0–3 years geotechnical experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel. Master’s in geotechnical preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Geotechnical interest demonstrated via coursework, internships, or related work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee subsurface explorations for transportation, facilities, water resources projects.
• Perform geotechnical calculations and designs, including foundations, slope stability, and seepage studies.
• Assist in reports, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical documentation.
• Plan and execute subsurface explorations and laboratory testing.
• Provide geotechnical observations during construction; ability to travel as needed.
