Job summary

GFT is seeking a Staff Design Geotechnical Engineer in East Brunswick, NJ for a hybrid in-office role. You will plan subsurface explorations, oversee analyses for transportation and water resources, and guide junior staff. Travel as needed to client sites and other offices is required.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, NJ/PA P.E. licensure within 6 months, and 4–6 years of geotechnical design experience, plus proficiency with geotech software and MS 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.E. license in NJ or PA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 4–6 years geotechnical design experience (investigations, reports, drawings, specs).
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as geotechnical task manager or lead engineer for small- to medium-scale projects (highway/rail, foundations, slopes, seepage).
• Develop subsurface exploration plans and lab testing programs; participate in field activities when needed.
• Prepare technical reports, geotechnical correspondence, drawings and specifications per scope.
