Job summary

S&ME in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to support civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects, learning from licensed Engineers and/or Geologists. This role blends fieldwork with office analysis and reports.

You will conduct soil borings, drilling oversight, sample collection, data analysis, and reporting; collaborate with teams; pursue PE licensure eventually; we offer mentorship, training, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining, or related field.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain with aim to pursue PE licensure.
• Interest in geotechnical solutions with field and analytical work.
• Basic technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Field Investigations & Exploration: conduct soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring wells, sample collection.
• Data Analysis & Technical Support: analyze subsurface conditions and support lab testing programs.
• Reporting & Documentation: prepare data tables, figures, and reports meeting standards.
• Construction & Environmental Inspections: inspect sites and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaboration & Communication: coordinate with contractors, labs, vendors and project team.
