Job summary

Arcadis seeks an entry-level Geologist/Scientist or Environmental Engineer for our San Luis Obispo, CA team, starting January 2027. You will work with Senior Scientists on environmental assessment and remediation projects, including fieldwork, data analysis and design support.

This role blends office task management with hands-on field activities, including drilling oversight, groundwater sampling, and vapor intrusion surveys, with significant travel expectations in the first years.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Engineering or closely related field; MS preferred.
• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
• EIT certification preferred for those pursuing engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field investigations, sampling and data collection.
• Support remediation design, system performance evaluation and feasibility studies.
• Prepare reports, permit applications, and QA/QC documentation.
• Communicate with clients, project managers and technical teams; travel as needed.
