Job summary

Safeway in Alliance, NE is seeking a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth checkout experience and greet customers warmly. You will scan items, process payments, bag groceries, and help keep the front end tidy and stocked throughout a fast-paced shift.

Ideal candidates bring strong math and communication skills, enjoy customer interaction, and can adapt to multiple tasks, with a willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on local/state rules).
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate checkout and assist customers with purchases.
• Scan items, bag groceries, and handle transactions accurately.
• Keep the front-end area clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Restock supplies and assist with cart retrieval and general front-end upkeep.
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow while following store procedures.
