Job summary

Sonsray in El Cajon, CA is hiring an entry-level Installer Technician to support our Fleet division. This hands-on role focuses on diesel and fleet maintenance, with opportunities to grow within a fast-paced shop. You will assist with installing Thermo King VP and APU systems on trucks and vans, learn wiring and mounting, and follow safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with an interest in fleet or equipment service.
• Previous hands-on automotive/diesel experience is a plus but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willing to learn and follow instructions from senior technicians.
• Able to stand, bend, lift, and work with tools in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of Thermo King VP and auxiliary power units (APU) on trucks, tractors, and vans.
• Support senior technicians with mechanical installations, component mounting, basic wiring, and system setup.
• Follow installation guidelines, safety procedures, and quality standards to meet Sonsray expectations.
• Perform basic shop tasks such as tool organization, parts staging, and work area cleanup.
• Learn proper use of hand and power tools in a shop environment.
• Accurately document work performed as directed by the Service Manager or lead technician.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations and dealership objectives.
