Job summary

Continental Fire Sprinkler Company seeks an entry-level designer to prepare fire protection installation drawings and hydraulic calculations from construction drawings. Training is provided; you will learn to read plans, develop shop drawings, and perform field reviews at Davenport, IA area offices.

Based in a team-focused environment, you will contribute to submittals, material lists, and coordination with project teams while traveling to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related degree preferred, or 1–2 years fire sprinkler design experience.
• Associates degree also considered; willingness to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Design fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action, foam).
• Detail shop drawings and perform field engineering support.
• Prepare plan and material submittals for review by architects and authorities.
• Coordinate fire sprinkler design with structures and other trades.
• Prepare material stocklists and assist procurement.
• Support project scheduling and on-site problem solving.
• Produce as-built drawings for archive and client files.
• Conduct NFPA and Building Code research.
