Continental Fire Sprinkler Company in Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA areas seeks an entry-level designer to prepare installation drawings and hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems under NFPA and Building Code requirements. Training will combine classroom, field, and self-directed study.

You will learn to read construction documents, visit job sites, and assist with material lists and scheduling to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recent graduate in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Associates degree considered for entry level.
• 1–2 years fire sprinkler design or 2+ years construction experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, foam).
• Prepare shop drawings and hydraulic calculations with field support.
• Coordinate with building structure and MEP subcontractors.
• Prepare material stocklists and procurement data.
• Oversee scheduling, quantity tracking, and procurement.
