Job summary

Coffman Engineers in Bozeman (with Boise satellite) is seeking an entry-level Fire Protection Engineer to join our Fire Protection team full-time in-office. You will contribute to automatic suppression system design, fire detection, alarm and life-safety concepts, and code analysis under experienced mentors.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and an interest in consulting engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Civil, Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering degrees will be considered.
• Background in Fire Protection or Fire Alarm industry preferred.
• Experience with drafting software (REVIT and AutoCAD) preferred.
• General building construction knowledge preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on a high-functioning team.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in designing automatic suppression, fire detection, alarm and life safety systems.
• Contribute to code analysis, egress analysis and fire resistance discussions.
• Assist with research and concept development under senior engineers.
• Collaborate within the Bozeman and Boise teams to deliver quality projects.
