Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction in Canton, MA is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician I to perform site observations, soil and concrete testing, and data reporting as part of our professional services team.

The role offers on-site work with exposure to outdoor conditions and industry-standard safety practices. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (ACI certification preferred) and a willingness to travel up to 15% and work overtime when required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to discriminate sounds.
• Ability to kneel, squat, walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to observe site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
