Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician I in Macomb, MI to perform testing, site observations, and data reporting under supervision. This role offers exposure to soil, concrete testing and technical documentation, with travel up to 25% and a pathway for growth within the Intertek-PSI team.

Qualified candidates typically have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and may hold an ACI Certification.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, hearing and to make discriminations in sound.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
