Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Early Career Field Service Engineer to join our Power & Water Solutions team in the United States. This role offers field work at Cranberry Township, PA and regional offices, with extensive travel to customer sites to commission and service automation systems.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting critical infrastructure projects, working with experienced engineers, and growing skills in virtualization, simulation, and remote support platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Analytical thinker with troubleshooting mindset.
• Curiosity and adaptability to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% as required.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced automation systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver effective solutions with customers.
• Learn industry technologies through hands-on field experience and mentorship from engineers.
• Assist with system testing, quality assurance, and performance evaluations.
• Provide on-site and remote support during project implementations and upgrades.
• Participate in customer training sessions and FATs.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and customers for successful execution.
• Develop technical, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills through real-world experience.
• Contribute to improving operational procedures and field documentation.
