Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Field Engineer for the Central District with opportunities to travel and relocate as needed across the Rockies, Midwest, and south-central US. The role combines field supervision, office engineering, and estimating tasks, with a base compensation range and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualified candidates have an undergraduate civil engineering-related degree and are proficient with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel and relocate to cities as needed.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience preferred.
• Safety-focused attitude and commitment to doing the job right.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and long hours as required by projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft.
• Prepare work plans and work packages; conduct quality inspections.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; assist with field surveying and JHA preparation.
• Document schedule progress and quantities for 3-week and 90-day updates; participate in safety meetings.
• Supervise field operations and provide field support; coordinate with subcontractors.
• Perform takeoffs and basic engineering calculations to support field operations.
