Job summary

Kiewit in Omaha, NE seeks a Field Engineer to join our Central District field operations. You will interpret drawings, perform takeoffs, and support field teams with engineering calculations and drafting, while coordinating with project managers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites as business requires.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and strong work ethic are essential.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft.
• Perform takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and drafting to support field operations.
• Assist with data entry into the job cost system and cost reporting with management.
• Generate change orders and as‑built data for review by Project Manager.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
• Review data and assist in plans and specifications for bids.
