Job summary

Shermco Industries in Ohio invites new graduates to join as a Field Services Technician - Electrical Testing. You will work on electrical systems in data centers, perform testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting, and support reliability of power infrastructure.

Qualifications

Preferred Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls or related field.
Experience with switchgear testing and troubleshooting is an asset.
Good PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.
Must be able to work safely and follow electrical safety procedures.
OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred; training can be provided.
Ability to drive locally/regionally and travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

On-site technical support for electrical systems, testing, and troubleshooting 480 V to 600 kV.
Perform equipment maintenance and inspections, including transformer and relay tests.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with switchgear, circuit breakers, and relays.
Maintain professional client relationships and respond to emergency calls.
Document service activities with reports and feedback; support continuous improvement.
