Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a New Grad Field Services Engineer - Electrical Testing to join our on-site service team. You will perform electrical testing and maintenance for data centers and critical facilities, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to safe, reliable power systems.

Responsibilities include on-site support for installations and testing from 480V to 600kV, transformer and relay tests, and documenting service activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience performing switchgear testing and troubleshooting is an asset.
• Proficiency with PC skills: email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB is a plus.
• Must be able to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70‑E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training encouraged; Shermco can provide training.
• Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• On‑Site Technical Support: provide on‑site assistance with electrical systems, installations, testing, and troubleshooting for voltages from 480V to 600kV.
• Equipment Maintenance: conduct routine maintenance and inspections, including transformer and relay tests.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve technical issues including switchgear, circuit breakers, and relay calibration.
• Client Interaction: maintain professional client relationships and respond to inquiries and emergencies.
• Documentation: keep detailed records of service activities, reports, client feedback, and modifications.
• Collaboration: work with cross‑functional teams on continuous improvement and innovation projects.
