Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Charlotte, NC, seeks an Entry-level Field Operations Assistant to support project teams in obtaining, evaluating and coordinating information to build the project per contract documents.

You will help ensure safety standards, meet schedule requirements, and achieve high-quality construction, reporting to the Project Superintendent or Superintendents. Strong teamwork and eagerness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction or related field.
• Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Nice interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient with computer applications and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of scheduling programs, desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform line and grade work for building layout and control.
• Assist in implementation of site safety program.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner safety standards and regulations.
• Assist in maintenance of contract documents and electronic field documents.
• Assist in preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs).
• Review work for accuracy within tolerances.
• Review drawings, specs, and shop drawings for coordination.
• Assist in preparation of project as-builts.
• Protect Turner interests in matters related to the project.
• Other duties as assigned.
