Job summary

Turner Construction Co. is seeking an entry-level field operations assistant for a Charlotte, NC project. The role focuses on aiding in information gathering, coordinating activities, and ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality on site.

Reports to the Project Superintendent or Superintendents. Essential duties include assisting with building layout, safety program implementation, subcontractor safety compliance, and maintaining project documentation and daily reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction or related field.
• Building construction, engineering, or related experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn.
• Able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Basic understanding of scheduling programs desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform line and grade work for building layout and control.
• Assist in implementing the site safety program.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain contract documents and electronic field operation records.
• Assist in preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs).
• Review drawings and shop drawings for coordination and accuracy.
• Assist in preparation of as-builts for the project.
• Promote Turner interests in related matters.
• Contribute to other duties as assigned.
