Job summary

Pauley Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer (Splicer I Fiber) for field work in Las Cruces, NM. You will splice overhead, underground or submarine cables and operate equipment to access and repair cable connections.

The role requires reading blueprints and working from complex drawings in outdoor environments. The position is hourly with a pay range of $24–$26 per hour, reflecting experience, safety, and field conditions.

Qualifications

• 0-1+ years of fiber splicer experience in outside plant or system installations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Splice overhead, underground or submarine multiple conductor cables with guidance.
• Climb utility poles or towers, use lift-bucket or descend into underground vaults.
• Cut sheath from installed cable to access defective connections and strip insulation.
• Test conductors to identify corresponding conductors using a test lamp or bell system.
• Read and interpret drawings, maps, blueprints and diagrams.
