Job summary

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking a New College Graduate Failure Analysis Engineer to join our analytical laboratory in Essex Junction, Vermont. You will support semiconductor manufacturing, yield improvement, and root-cause investigations using failure analysis techniques and data-driven problem solving.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a chemistry/physics/engineering background, GPA 3.0+, and strong English communication skills, willing to travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited program.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
• English language proficiency (written & verbal).
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support failure analysis investigations for yield, reliability, and manufacturing challenges using analytical techniques including SIMS.
• Analyze characterization data, interpret results, and communicate findings to engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop investigation strategies and improve process understanding.
• Develop technical expertise in semiconductor materials analysis and failure mechanisms through hands-on training.
