Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0–2 years of related painting/finishing experience is acceptable.
• Interest in learning production finishing and scenic techniques.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Basic aptitude for maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, sanding, surface filling, masking, priming, painting, staining, and top coating of exhibits, displays, scenic facades, and signs.
• Learn to safely operate standard finishing equipment under direct supervision, progressing toward independent use as skills develop.
• Assist with assembling and disassembling structures and devices into exhibit structures, both in the shop and at client locations.
• Help prepare and finish samples for client approvals, scaled models, and mock-ups in wood, plastics, foam, or similar materials.
• Keep shop and personal workspace clean, organized, and well-supplied.
• Assist with regular paint booth maintenance and cleaning.
• Demonstrate strong attendance, promptness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
