We are currently seeking a skilled Painter to join our production team and bring our designs to life with precision and artistry.

Position Summary

The Painter is responsible for preparing, finishing, and painting exhibit components, custom displays, and architectural elements. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques, and the ability to work with a variety of materials and finishes in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming.
  • Apply paint, stains, and specialty finishes using spray guns, rollers, and brushes.
  • Mix and match paint colors to meet design specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized paint booth and work area.
  • Inspect finished work for quality and consistency, making touch‑ups as needed.
  • Collaborate with designers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure accurate execution of creative vision.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Track materials usage and report inventory needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational training a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in professional painting, preferably in exhibit, theatrical, or custom fabrication environments.
  • Proficiency with HVLP spray equipment and other painting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and color accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and finish schedules.
  • Comfortable working with wood, metal, plastics, and other substrates.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team‑oriented attitude.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with automotive or industrial coatings.
  • Knowledge of faux finishes, texture techniques, or specialty coatings.
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
