Southwest Concrete Paving Co. is recruiting an Assistant Mechanic & Parts Runner to support field crews across the western U.S. This entry-level role offers hands-on learning with heavy equipment mechanics and travel up to 100%.

You will assist with routine maintenance, run parts, and help organize the shop and service trucks while gaining practical experience in hydraulics, engines, and diagnostics over time.

Qualifications

• No prior mechanic experience required; training provided.
• Interest in learning mechanical skills and construction equipment repair.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, outdoor environments.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Support Heavy Equipment Mechanics with routine services (oil changes, filter changes, greasing, tire checks).
• Deliver and pick up parts, supplies, and tools to field crews.
• Keep shop and service truck organized; track parts inventory.
• Assist in equipment setup, tear-down, and job-site prep.
• Record service work and communicate needs to the mechanic team.
