Job summary

National Pavement Partners in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of trucks, skid steers, pavers and rollers. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, can read manuals and schematics, and is committed to safety and quality workmanship.

Valid driver's license preferred; CDL is a plus. This full-time role requires long hours, weekend availability, and teamwork with operators and supervisors to keep equipment performing at peak

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
  • ASE certifications or vocational training preferred but not required
  • Have their own set of tools and hand/power tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, skid steers, pavers, rollers)
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Complete repairs including engine work, brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulic components, and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts inventory logs
  • Order parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairs
  • Operate diagnostic tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensure shop area and tools are clean, organized, and maintained
  • Assist with emergency repairs in the field as needed
  • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repairs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
