Pay Rate: $18 / hour (Based on experience & mechanical aptitude)
About the Role
Core Personnel Staffing Services is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Equipment Technician for a premier structural precast concrete manufacturing facility in Hempstead, TX.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong mechanical aptitude, a great work ethic, and a desire to learn industrial maintenance hands-on. Working alongside senior mechanics and lead technicians, you will assist with daily plant inspections, routine equipment servicing, basic electrical/pneumatic checks, and preventive maintenance.
(No extensive prior industrial experience required—we are looking for reliable candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a technical trade!)
Key Responsibilities
Technician Assistance: Support lead mechanics and technicians with daily repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on production machinery.
Routine Servicing: Perform basic equipment lubrications, oil checks, filter changes, and pneumatic hose replacements across the plant.
Tool & Workstation Prep: Organize maintenance tools, prepare work areas, stage replacement parts, and assist with equipment teardowns.
Basic Diagnostics: Assist with reading basic work orders, inspecting sensors, checking electrical connections, and testing basic machine operations.
Plant Safety & 5S: Follow strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain clean, organized shop work areas.
Required Qualifications
Mechanical Aptitude: Basic experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (from automotive, vocational training, farm equipment, or general labor settings).
Work Ethic & Willingness to Learn: Strong desire to learn industrial electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on the job.
Physical Ability: Able to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; vocational/technical school courses in mechanics, HVAC, or electronics are a plus.
Bilingual Capability (Plus): English/Spanish bilingual skills are helpful for team collaboration.
