Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our Overland Park, KS team, supporting solid waste, permitting, and design projects. You’ll gain hands-on training in field and office settings, including construction plans, analyses, and health and safety tasks.

The role involves AutoCAD/Civil3D work, coordinating with contractors and clients, and occasional travel to project sites. A BS in a civil/environmental field and internships are required.

Qualifications

• BS in civil, environmental, biosystems, or geotechnical engineering required.
• 3 months of internship or related experience in solid waste/environmental engineering.
• Basic AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil3D knowledge preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations for reports and permits.
• Create drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare permit applications with supporting documentation.
• QC reviews of reports and plans before submission.
• Coordinate with contractors and clients.
• Support fieldwork and safety planning as needed.
