Job summary

SCS Engineers seeks an entry-level engineer for our Atlanta, GA office to support the solid waste practice. You will work on projects spanning landfill, landfill gas, stormwater, and environmental compliance, with fieldwork and office duties in a collaborative team setting.

You will contribute to design, permitting, and construction support, learn AutoCAD, and grow through training and mentoring in a 100% employee-owned firm offering broad career opportunities in a national environmental

Qualifications

BS degree in civil, environmental, biosystems or geotechnical engineering is required.
3 months of relevant solid waste, environmental and/or engineering internship or experience is required.
Ability to learn AutoCAD or comparable software is required.
Strong preference for individuals who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing is required.

Responsibilities

Support engineering/design for solid waste projects in landfill, landfill gas, and related areas.
Assist with stormwater, wastewater, air quality, permitting and design documents.
Conduct fieldwork and coordinate with contractors, clients and the project team.
Prepare calculations and assist in preparing permit applications and submittals.
Coordinate with GIS/CAD drafters and use AutoCAD or ArcGIS for basic designs.
Contribute to quality assurance reviews of reports and design documents.
