Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Charlotte, NC seeks an Engineering Technician – Level 1 to support engineers in the Synoptics facility. The role emphasizes equipment support and ongoing maintenance of coating devices in a specialized laser-related manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have a High School diploma, PLC experience, and strong teamwork. This is a 100% onsite position with a salary range of $45,100–$75,100 plus potential overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; no additional education required.
• Understanding of drawings, BOMs, and prints for semi‑complex mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with PLC/ladder control programming.
• Familiarity with PLCs and PC control systems.
• Attention to detail and clear communication.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on critical equipment and tooling in TFC.
• Maintain and modify coating chambers and chamber components.
• Work on long-term projects to improve electrical/PLC components.
• Document parts drawings, tooling, and check sheets.
• Troubleshoot controls, instruments, and mechanical systems.
• Some heavy lifting is expected; team lift over 50lbs.
