Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician – Level 1 to join the Synoptics team in Charlotte, NC. This is a 100% onsite role with no telecommute option. The position is within the SYNOPTICS division, known for laser crystals and optical fabrication.

The ideal candidate will perform maintenance, support engineers, and work on long-term projects in a high-precision coating environment. A high school diploma with related experience and PLC familiarity is required.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
Understanding of drawings, BOMs, and prints associated with semi-complex mechanical assembly.
Familiarity with PLCs and PC control systems.
Experience with PLC/ladder control programming
Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in collaborative team environment
Able to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts
Ability to determine/identify sequence of operations or actions to be taken

Responsibilities

Performs preventative maintenance on critical equipment and tooling in TFC.
Maintain and/or modify existing coating chambers and chamber components.
Work on long-term projects such as improvement of existing and/or obsolete electrical/PLC components
Document parts drawings, tooling, and check sheets.
Troubleshoots controls, instruments, and mechanical systems
Some heavy lifting is expected; team lift more than 50lbs.
