Job summary

Austin Commercial, a leader in commercial construction and 100% employee-owned, is seeking Construction Project Engineers for large corporate and public projects in the Fort Worth area. This entry-level PE II position supports submittals, schedules, estimates, and close-out activities while collaborating with a wide range of construction professionals.

You will contribute to cost estimation, procurement coordination, RFIs, logs, and safety programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• Internship experience with a construction company strongly preferred.
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year of employment).

Responsibilities

• Notifies subcontractors of commencement dates and expedites deliveries to avoid delays.
• Prepares quantity take-offs for proposed changes.
• Oversees submittal schedule and logs; coordinates with subcontractors, architects, and superintendents; traces submissions that affect schedule.
• Produces reports such as material, submittal, RFI, drawing, and long-lead items logs per owners and procedures.
• Assists in verifying monthly subcontractor payments.
• Locates suppliers and verifies quantity, quality, and prices for materials.
• Responds to RFIs from owners and subcontractors; routes information to field teams.
• Compiles close-out documents (as-builts, warranties, manuals) for owner delivery; supports warranty packaging.
• In Estimating, prepares detailed cost estimates; may assist with value engineering and pricing; interacts with owners, architects, engineers, subs, suppliers.
• Participates in jobsite safety as outlined in Safety & Health Manual.
• Other duties as assigned.
