Job summary

General Motors is seeking creative engineers for software development in Vehicle Software and Electronics Engineering. You will design, implement and test software across vehicle domains, from embedded to cloud-based solutions, contributing to GM's ZERO Crashes, ZERO Emissions, and ZERO Congestion vision.

You will work on embedded controls, vehicle ecosystem software, and software updates within a hybrid work model in southeast Michigan, collaborating within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Must be able to work in southeast Michigan.
• Proficient in C, C++ programming language.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality software solutions for embedded controls systems across vehicle domains.
• Design, development and implementation of physics and controls requirements for mechatronic controls and diagnostics.
• Adhere to best software design principles and hardware abstractions for effective software solutions.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality.
• Document requirements and link them to test cases that demonstrate software functionality.
• Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality.
• Function as an inclusive Agile Scrum team member to deliver software solutions.
• Have voice in software planning events and share learnings.
