Job summary

Intramotev in St. Louis, MO, is hiring an Associate Embedded Software Engineer to join the on‑vehicle embedded team. You'll work on the FreeRTOS real‑time system and embedded‑Linux device across self‑propelled railcars, handling a single firmware feature at a time under close mentorship.

This full‑time, on‑site role is based in St. Louis and involves collaboration with a team of 3–10 engineers, with occasional domestic travel for hardware bring‑up and field testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or in progress in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS or related field.
• 0–2 years embedded software experience on an embedded target; C/C++ proficiency, real‑time/multi‑threaded fundamentals.
• Experience with debugging on target hardware (JTAG/SWD or logic analyzer) and unit testing discipline.
• Experience with Git in a collaborative workflow; comfortable in Linux CLI and expanding into new technical areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, testable C/C++ for on‑vehicle embedded system components under guidance.
• Write unit tests and contribute to test coverage for touched features.
• Debug on target hardware using JTAG/SWD or logic analyzers with team support.
• Collaborate in a Git‑driven workflow; communicate status and blockers clearly to the team lead.
