Kearny Mesa Company in San Diego, CA is seeking an Electronics Production Worker for first shift. The role involves assembling electronic components, cable harnesses, and box builds from samples and blueprints with close attention to detail.

The candidate will use basic hand tools, measuring devices, and microscopes to ensure quality. A no-phone policy and safety procedures apply on the production floor during the 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift.

Qualifications

Electronics Production Worker - 1st Shift - $19/hr - Kearny Mesa Company
Job Description

The General Production Worker performs a variety of repetitive assembly operations on electronic components and subassemblies within the production line. Working from samples, technical blueprints, and specifications, this role assembles cable and wire harnesses, completes box builds, and handles kitting and related products from start to finish under direct supervision. The position requires consistent attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and comfort working with hand tools and measuring equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of repetitive assembly operations on electronic components and subassemblies in the product line.

  • Assemble cable and wire harnesses from start to finish, including crimping and stripping wires.

  • Complete box builds and kitting tasks according to samples, diagrams, and technical blueprints.

  • Conduct labeling, wire cutting, stuffing, bag and tag, heat shrink, back shelling, and harnessing activities as required.

  • Work accurately with diagrams, blueprints, measuring rulers, and small hand tools to meet production specifications.

  • Use microscopes and other basic production tools to complete detailed assembly work.

  • Follow both verbal and written instructions to ensure products meet quality and coding requirements.

  • Compute and verify measurements accurately to maintain consistency and product integrity.

  • Maintain a focused, autonomous work style while adhering to production processes and quality standards.

  • Comply with all production floor policies, including the no-phone policy and safety procedures.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervision to support production needs.

Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks on electronic components and subassemblies.

  • Strong hand-eye coordination suitable for detailed assembly work and use of microscopes.

  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately for coding and identification purposes.

  • Proficiency using basic hand tools such as long nose pliers and side cutters.

  • Comfort working with diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.

  • Ability to use measuring tools, including rulers, and compute measurements accurately.

  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions in a structured production environment.

  • Reliability in maintaining focus and quality while working autonomously.

  • Willingness to adhere to strict production floor rules, including a no cell phone policy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general production, manufacturing, or machine operation environments.

  • Background in general labor or production work involving crimping and wire handling.

  • Familiarity with cable and wire harness assembly, box builds, and kitting processes.

  • Comfort working from samples and technical blueprints in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to adapt to special projects and changing production priorities under direct supervision.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing setting on a first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The production floor operates as a quiet, focused workplace where employees work autonomously while following established processes and safety guidelines. A strict no cell phone policy applies on the production floor to maintain concentration and product quality. Team members regularly use small hand tools, measuring devices, microscopes, and work from diagrams and blueprints to complete detailed assembly tasks. Attire is appropriate for a manufacturing environment, supporting safety, comfort, and readiness to work with tools and equipment throughout the shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
