Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering to join the Optics and Photonics Group in Laurel, MD. You will support projects through modeling, experimental data collection, and analysis, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Strong communication and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Interest in Optical Imaging Systems, Optical System Design, Optical System Analysis and Test, or Prototyping of Advanced Optical Systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects as an individual technical contributor with modeling, simulation, experiments and data collection.
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex sponsor problems.
  • Document work in formal and informal technical reports, presentations and journal articles.
