Job summary

Universal Electrical Service, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Secondary Electrical Estimator/Project Manager to support our commercial estimating team.

You will prepare accurate bids, perform quantity takeoffs, and evaluate vendor pricing while collaborating with senior estimators and project stakeholders. The role requires experience with commercial electrical systems, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to bid opportunities and project handoffs in a dynamic contracting

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction, estimating, project engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specs, and other bid documents.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review plans and specifications to identify scope, exclusions, and risks.
• Support bid proposals, value engineering options, and scope clarifications.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and senior estimators during turnover.
• Assist with change orders and budget development when needed.
